This year, the annual Hospice golf tournament will be held at the Manawatu Golf Club, Palmerston North on Thursday 18th March. The Arohanui Hospice is a very well respected and well known organisation here in the Manawatu and has recieved some fantastic community support over the years from various individuals and companies.
In particular, the Higgins family and the Higgins Group. In 2008 Michael Higgins sadly passed away, and in recognition to his and his families overwhelming support of the Arohanui Hospice, the Hospice has decided to hold this tournament in his honour. Therefore, this year will be the first Arohanui Hospice "Michael Higgins Memorial" Golf Tournament.
Each year, various charities and organisations around the country hold golf tournaments as a fantastic way to raise money. We at Golf Distributors are approached by many of these organisations for support; however it is simply out of our reach to support them all. Therefore, there are a very select few that we do like to focus on and support in any way we can. The Arohanui Hospice golf tournament being one of them.
As Michael Higgins was a close and personal friend of the Vining family, it makes supporting such a tournament all the more special. Michael, along with the entire Higgins family, has done some tremendous things for the Hospice and various other charities throughout the Manawatu and their support has gone a long way to helping a lot of people.
We would encourage anyone to take part in this fantastic day and help support an organisation that is devoted to helping others. If you would like to enter a team for this year, or register your interest for next year, please contact:
